Floods and heavy torrential rains hitting large parts of Saudi Arabia

Even though summer has arrived, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is still experiencing extremely heavy rains that are beyond the capacity of the infrastructure of the country. As a result, streets and homes are submerged, cars are wrecked, and people continue to suffer.

Recently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Center of Meteorology released a report alerting the public to the impending severe rain wave that the nation is expected to experience based on reliable forecasts.

The statement said that the stormy weather would start on Thursday and listed the locations that will be vulnerable to thunderstorms and heavy rain, which include, as previously mentioned, coastal areas and other areas.

The residents of many of these areas were anxious because they were used to enduring the rains on their own as much as possible, but their lives, homes, and vehicles were not immune to the harm that befell them.

Although they did not reveal their assignments during the rain and storms, the Civil Defense Authority wished them safety and caution.

Long-term government neglect in the Uhud Rufaidah area of the Asir region, southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has left the locals suffering from the collapse of infrastructure, the spread of hills of trash, and the destruction of green spaces. Their living circumstances are dreadful, brought on by both neglect and rain.

In spite of the fact that their demands are common and widely regarded as the barest necessities of human existence, the residents of the area wrote and declared that they had repeatedly complained to the municipalities, but to no avail.

It is important to remember that Ahmed Awir was named the new mayor of the Asir region a while back. The people believed that this was being done in order to engage with them and address their demands, which are reflected in the completion of street lighting and the asphalting of dirt streets, which remain dark in many parts of the governorate.

Along with this, many villages, neighborhoods, and residential plans were requested to include pedestrian pathways.

The area’s main park, which was the first tourist destination in the governorate and was frequented by thousands of residents and citizens, was also neglected, according to the residents, who demanded that it be fixed, maintained, planted, and illuminated after it had become deserted. All these entreaties and demands were met with the status quo, and the new president took on the same careless attitude as the previous one.

The Asir region’s borders were not the end of the negligence; it continued into numerous Saudi regions. Municipalities met complaints with indifference as well as a lack of attention.

Given all of this, Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman’s regime is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on new desert areas that have not produced economic benefits for eight years, and neither citizens nor residents have relocated there, causing the cities that are home to people to collapse and services to be delayed even though service taxes and housing costs have increased in these areas.
