Every king and prince talks about this Saudi dream, via making conferences and plans worth millions of dollars which soon fail and citizens lose their lives as a result, including Al-Huwaitat members who are victims of the dreams of the current Saudi crown prince.
Neom is the city by which bin Salman is trying to bring his dreams to life, using the Kingdom’s budget for dreams and ill-considered plans, which according to analysts are pure fictions.
The Wall Street Journal cited economic reports proving the failure of the city of dreams due to the slow process, as the city was announced in 2017 during the launch of Vision 2030 of MBS.
The economic reports also dealt with the mass immigration by many employees from the Neom project to other cities of Saudi in search of new job opportunities after they became certain that the ambitious plan of the Prince is farfetched and unreasonable.
In NEOM engineers are struggling, according to reports, to blow up pits that are half a mile deep, equivalent to 30 floors on the side of the mountain, to construct hotels and residences.
According to engineers in personal interviews with the authors of the reports, engineers have also been instructed to build ten royal palaces; each one is larger than a football field, with more than five different designs, at a selling cost of $ 400 million for each.
In one of the Neom meetings, the Crown Prince said I want creative ideas; I want to build my pyramids. The Saudi government refrained from commenting on the meaning of what he said and talked about Neom and the ambitions of the Crown Prince.
A spokesperson for NEOM told the newspaper that the project is owned by the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as its size is unprecedented, but during a discussion about the plans, times, and operational stages, he attributed the delay in completion of the project to the project being flexible!
Many questions are raised about NEOM, the passage of time, and its high cost under a reckless Crown Prince.
