In the midst of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the failure of the Arab regimes to support the people of Palestine and even participate in their starvation and siege, the Oil Change International website revealed the Arab regimes whose fuel supplies are perpetuating this humanitarian crisis, mainly the Saudi regime
The findings revealed that Israel receives relatively small but regular shipments of crude via the Sumed pipeline. The pipeline receives crude oil from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iraq, and from Egypt, through which the pipeline also travels.
Allie Rosenbluth, Oil Change International US Program Manager, said: “Countries and major oil companies fueling Israel’s war machine are complicit in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, including Saudi Arabia which directly fueling Israel’s military.”
The report concluded by calling on nations to leverage their oil supply as a means to demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to the occupation.
Notably, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Khaled bin Bandar, stated last January that his nation was considering attempting to restore relations with the Israeli occupation following the Gaza War.
At the time, Khaled bin Bandar told the BBC that his country was close to reaching an agreement with the Israeli occupation state through US mediation. However, he said that his country would resume its efforts to normalize relations after the war in Gaza ended.
Despite the significant potential casualties and infrastructure losses from the Gaza War, the Saudi ambassador to Britain stated that his nation has come to see the value of forging diplomatic ties with Israel.
Saudi Arabia’s anti-Gaza position did not end there, as numerous social media activists were intimidated and coerced into traveling just for advocating for Gaza in online videos at the Great Mosque of Mecca.
Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Sudais, the Grand Mosque’s Imam, also ventured forth to express his nation’s indignation over the actions of a Muslim woman who hoisted the Palestinian flag in the Kaaba and offered prayers for the people of Gaza.
The Saudi regime also stopped all pro-Gaza donation campaigns while it did not stop support campaigns to Ukraine.
