When the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced Vision 2030 in April 2016, he did not have a plan or information about the project to be able to speak in front of the cameras about. This was clear in the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s response when asked about identifying the Vision 2030 projects. He took out two mobile devices from his pocket and said that “the reality now is like this” (pointed to the audience with an old mobile device), “and the future will be like this”, pointing at a modern mobile device. Ironically the audience applause as they understood nothing and to cover up his failure in presenting his project with clear contents and specific visions.

Vision 2030 is incomplete

The crown prince’s vision was based on three axes: “A prosperous economy – a vibrant society – an ambitious homeland,”, however, three years or more after the launch of Vision 2030 it turned out that it was nothing but loose slogans with which the Crown Prince fondled the dreams of the unemployed young people who are distressed, confused and worried about their future.

A year and a half later the Saudi Crown Prince announced the launch of the NEOM project, in front of 2500 public figures in KSA at a cost of $ 500 billion. A project for dreamers who want to make something new in this world, where there is no place for traditional investments.

Bin Salman cannot see thousands of citizens

Oddly enough, when the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman proposed the NEOM project, he said it is allocated in a completely empty of residents’ area, so it would not harm the interest of any citizen.  Only for the world to discover his lies after watching the video of the Saudi government demolishing dozens of homes, and the Saudi security arresting everyone who refused forced displacement and leaving their lands and history.

This region has witnessed hot events during the past years as many residents appealed to the Saudi government to provide services and infrastructure to the area after the expansion of urbanization and the increase in population growth there.

The residents organised demonstrations and sit-ins inside their homes, as happened in the village of Khuraibah, which resulted in the arrest of dozens of senior tribes members in the region, while others were threatened to accept compensation determined by the authorities or forcing them to leave, in addition to killing the Saudi citizen Abdulrahim Al-Huwaiti, who documented the last moments of his life before the security forces liquidated him, then arrested 26 of his family.

Forced not a renaissance maker

Despite the budget deficit and successive economic crises in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman insists on the implementation of the ‘City of the Dreamers’, or on the realization of his dream called ‘Project Neom’.

His insistence is not because he aims at achieving economic prosperity for the country, but rather because the Neom area is an area within the American-Israeli planning to reshape the region on the old Jewish vision of the “new Middle East”, which means that the matter is not up to the Saudi crown prince, and he will not be able to stop implementing this dream, which became apparent that it is not his dream but it is the dream of the Israeli occupation state and its Arab regimes agents.
