The Russian “GEOPOLITIKA” website published an analysis of the situation in Saudi Arabia under the rule of Mohamed bin Salman, for the Russian political expert, Viktor Mikhin.
The Middle East region is still surprising the world, although it has become difficult to be surprised following the Arab Spring revolutions, and the events in Europe and USA, according to the report.
Mikhin analyzes the region after the crisis of the blockade of Qatar, speaking about regional and global repercussions, considering that Saudi Arabia can no longer enter the international political life, because its ruling circles lack the experienced people who can analyse events and interact with reality.
Mikhin also spoke about the wars in Yemen and Syria, where KSA supported the war against Bashar with funds, but quickly turned against the opposition currents and sided with Bashar Al-Assad.
As for the war on Yemen war with the orders of King Salman, and he no longer has the courage nor the ability to withdraw from it.
The Russian expert said that Riyadh had hoped that Cairo, Oman and Islamabad would fight in Yemen on its behalf, but it discovered with time that no one pays anyone’s tax, and no one fights for the interests of others, so all Saudi policies in Yemen failed despite the Saudi kingdom’s possession of the latest weapons that Trump forced them to buy in exchange for protection.
This arsenal did not help the Saudis in their war in Yemen, especially since they discovered that the resistance in Yemen began using old Soviet weapons to target Saudi and inflict great losses in it.
Complete Internal Breakdown
The Russian analyst addressed the internal situation of Saudi Arabia, saying that the situation is closer to a full collapse, especially with the failure of the Kingdom’s government to rely on nothing other than oil, despite MBS promises of a diversified economy, which affected the Saudi economy, especially after the sharp decline in oil prices during the past periods.
Experts believe, according to the site, that the rapid rise in oil prices has become an issue today, which prompted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to search by any means for foreign investors to enter its markets to compensate for the large deficit in the Kingdom's budget.
As for the situation in the ruling family, Mikhin said that the problems facing the Saudi crown prince are due to his appointment as crown prince in violation of all the ruling traditions since the establishment of the Saudi state.
Mikhen said: “Reports talk about the forcible removal of the former Crown Prince Mohamed bin Nayef from his position and placing him under house arrest, which reflects how things are very tense in the royal family. He does not have international political experience. He did not get a proper education, as he graduated from the Faculty of Law in Riyadh only, and occupied high positions thanks only to his father.”
Mikhin considered it difficult for bin Salman to get the kingdom out of the crises he created himself, because of his statements against Iran.
